General Eye Examination

The eye is placed in a solid helmet in the human body because of its importance, sensitivity, and vulnerability to various impacts and influences. The orbit is the space in which the eye is located and is surrounded by bones.
The brow and brow bone are above it; the temporal bone is outside and below it, and the nasal root is inside. The eyelid serves to shield the eye from foreign objects. The eye socket has a volume of 29 cm 3. It houses the eyeball, eye muscles, vessels and nerves, as well as adipose tissue that serves as a cushion for them.

Importance of Eye Examination
Among our sense organs, our eyes are the first and most important, as they open the doors to the world and activate our ability to learn and perceive.
One of the most important steps toward a healthy life is to have our eyes examined on a regular basis.

Even if they have no complaints, everyone should have an eye examination once a year, whether or not they wear glasses.
It should be noted that many diseases, ranging from hypertension to kidney disease, blood cancer to brain tumours, can be easily diagnosed with a routine eye examination.
All medical and surgical treatments for eye disorders and diseases are administered to our patients of all ages, from infants to the elderly, at our hospital.

EXAMINATION PROCESS AT OUR CENTRE
Computerized Eye Examination
The presence of myopia, hyperopia, and astigmatism in the patient's eyes is measured with the Autorefractometer device, which is used to determine the most appropriate eyeglasses numbers. Drops are applied to the eyes in some cases, particularly in paediatric examinations, to temporarily suppress the eyes' ability to adapt, and the autorefractometer measurement is taken after a short wait. The term "drop inspection" is commonly used to describe this procedure. For a while, you won't be able to see the near after this drop.

Visual Acuity Test
Reading letters, numbers, or figures from a distance, from largest to smallest, is a test of our ability to see fine details. Uncorrected visual acuity refers to an eye's best level of vision when it is not wearing glasses, lenses, or contact lenses.
The best degree of vision that can be achieved by placing a lens or spectacle lens in front of one eye is called corrected visual acuity. During an eyeglass examination, an ophthalmologist places various glasses in front of the patient's eyes and determines which glass numbers provide the patient with the best and most comfortable vision. During this examination, the doctor uses the autorefractometer device to take measurements.

Determining Eye Number
Glasses are required when we are unable to see clearly due to refractive errors in our eyes such as myopia, hyperopia, or astigmatism. In addition to the treatment, the examination determines whether glasses, contact lenses, or surgery are the best options for the individual.

Biomicroscopic Examination
Because the eye tissues cannot be examined with the naked eye without enlarging them, an eye examination requires the use of a slit lamp. The lids, eyelashes, conjunctiva, cornea, sclera, iris, pupil, lens, and vitreous in the front of the eye are examined in detail using special devices during microscopic examination.
Intraocular Pressure (Eye Pressure) Measurement
The best way to detect glaucoma is to have regular eye exams. Examinations with an eye pressure measuring device are used to diagnose eye pressure.

Examination of the Eyelids
By following an object in their hand with the eye and not moving the patient's head, the doctor examines the shape, position, and colour of the eyelids, the gap between the lower and upper eyelids, the closing functions of the eyelids, and any swelling, mass, or tenderness on them. The functions of the muscles responsible for eye movements to the right, left, up, down, and intermediate directions are assessed in this manner, and it is determined whether any obstruction (mass, inflammation, edoema, etc.) is obstructing eye movements.
